What cause obesity?

Our modern lifestyles are also causing more people to be obese. Changing work patterns, using technology, changes in portion size and the built environment all contribute to making us gain weight.


How do people start to gain weight?

The common reason would be ;



i.    Lack of exercise
  • Nowadays, people neither go to the gym nor for jogging because they’re too busy with their work. People couldn't go the gym because they're a lack of time.
  • If people are not very active with their physical activities , the calories in their body will not burn. With a sedentary lifestyle, they can easily take in more calories in their diet every day than they can burn it and use through exercise and normal daily activities.


ii.  Lack of health consciousness
  • Nowadays, people are lack of health conscious because they love to eat and drink too much sugar rich stuff.
  • They also tend to choose fast food such as MCD, Pizza Hut, KFC, Domino’s Pizza, Maggie and so on.




iii.Unhealthy diet and eating habits
  • Weight gain is inevitable if people whom regularly eat more calories than they burn.
  • Some types of foods are more likely to lead to weight gain.
  • Foods that tend to increase the risk of weight gain include;

a. Fried foods, such as french fries
b. Fatty and processed meats
c. Many dairy products
d. Sweetened juices, sodas, and alcoholic drinks
e. Processed, high-carb foods, such as bread
  • Eating too much of these foods and doing too little exercise can result in weight gain and obesity.
